Station Tours Minimize

The District conducts a number of station tours throughout the year, for residents of all ages.  Whether you're taking a class field trip or deciding on a possible career in firefighting, our staff will glad to show you around.  We do ask, though,  that you call us to schedule a tour well ahead of time (four week minimum for group tours), since our firefighters are sometimes at training drills, meetings or other scheduled public events.

To schedule a tour, call the Administrative Office at 831-685-6690, between Monday and Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, or email Administrative Assistant Sarah Melton at sarahm@aptosfire.com.

Station 1 - Aptos Minimize

Like all of our fire stations, Station 1 has a minimum of three safety personnel on duty at all times - a Fire Captain, Firefighter/Paramedic, and Firefighter.  Each station is also equipped with a Pierce Fire Engine.  Check the “About” tab on our website for more info on our vehicles and their use.

Station 1 was built in 1968.  The station is located at 6934 Soquel Drive, just South of Cabrillo College.  This building is also the headquarters of the District, where both our Prevention Bureau and Administration Office are located.  We also have two meeting rooms, available for use by non-profit local community groups (contact Admin. for more info on room use).

Station 2 - Rio Del Mar Minimize

Station 2 was built in 1978, and is located at 300 Bonita Drive, at the corner of Bonita and Monterey Drive.  This station is also where our Training Facility is, where firefighters from both ours and other Districts participate in a variety of training events.

This station has also recently gone through a large amount of refurbishing and seismic retrofitting, to be better prepared for the next large earthquake or other natural disaster.  Safety rails n the stairs, new flooring and more were added during this process.

Station 3 - La Selva Beach Minimize

One of the newest changes at Station 3 is the addition of a beautiful mural, painted by artists Laura Crosser, Arturo Tomae and Alowan Linton.

Our La Selva Beach station is located at 312 Estrella Drive, and was built in 1969. It was originally known as the La Selva Beach Fire Department until 1986, when it consolidated with the Aptos Fire Department.

Our annual Firefighters Pancake Breakfast (sponsored by the local Firefighters Union #3535) is held at the LSB Recreation District building, adjoining this station.
